Title: English as Second Language (ESL) Instructor Part-Time (Boone Campus)

Salary Range: $21/hr with Bachelor Degree, $23/hr with Master Degree

Contract Term Length: Not Applicable

Standard Hours: 8 / Week

Work Location: On-Site

FLSA Status: Exempt

Job Summary

Provide in person instruction for non-native English speakers on Tuesday and Thursday evenings.

Job Duties:

  • Plan and execute lessons for English Language learners that will increase their proficiency with comprehension, speaking, reading, and writing in the English Language.
  • Work with online learning tools so that students can continue to study outside of the classroom.
  • Maintain good documentation of class attendance.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills; ability to communicate with many individuals at all levels throughout the internal college environment and external business and community partners, representing himself/herself professionally and courteously.
  • Ability to communicate clearly verbally and, in writing.
  • Ability to multi-task, work under deadlines, and prioritize projects to meet deadlines with high levels of efficiency and accuracy.
  • Must have proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office (Excel, Forms, Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, and Word).
     

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in and understanding of working with students from diverse populations is preferred.
  • Experience working at the community college level is preferred.

Additional Skills Requested:

  • Must be able to keep good attendance records.
