Job Summary
The Academic/Dual Credit Advisor serves as a key resource at the Leestown Campus, providing comprehensive advising services for walk-in students, dual credit students, and participants in the Fast Track Program. This role requires a proactive and student-centered professional dedicated to supporting academic success and seamless enrollment processes for a diverse student population.
Job Duties:
1. Advising Presence at Leestown Campus
a. Serve as the primary advising representative for walk-in students at the Leestown Campus.
b. Provide General Leestown Campus Advising Appointments
2. Dual Credit Advising
a. Act as the assigned advisor for home-school dual credit students
b. Offer phone advising appointments for dual credit students
c. Answer advising-related inquiries from the dual credit email inbox, transitioning to full inbox management as proficiency develops.
d. Serve as the advisor for other dual credit partnerships including private schools and schools offering limited dual credit courses.
3. Fast Track Program Support
a. Advise prospective students in the Fast Track Certificate Program, providing guidance on short term certificates and enrollment steps.
4. Collaboration and Communication
a. Collaborate with the Dual Credit team to refine processes and ensure accurate and effective responses to student inquiries.
b. Work closely with other campus advisors and administrative staff to maintain consistent and high-quality advising services.
5. Administrative Duties
a. Maintain accurate and detailed records of advising interactions and student progress.
b. Stay informed about BCTC programs, policies, and procedures to provide up-to-date information to students.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in related field and four years related experience, or equivalent.
