Job Summary

The Academic Program Coordinator provides high touch support to traditional and dual credit students at the Southwest and Bullitt campuses, offering assessment, advising, academic planning, and ongoing guidance from enrollment through completion. This role ensures a seamless student experience by monitoring academic progress, fostering strong communication and collaboration, and helping students stay on track toward semester to semester persistence and successful program or degree completion.

Job Duties:

• Operate in a high-touch service role, focused on retention management, outreach, and intervention. Activities include assessment, advising, monitoring academic progress, providing holistic student assistance services, creating an academic plan for each student during their first semester, and following up with students to ensure semester to semester completion with the goal of program and degree completion. 
• Provide academic and career advising to new, returning, assigned, referred, visiting, and prospective students across Southwest and Bullitt campuses, as well as undecided and probation students.

• Engage students with regular communication through various means such as e-mail, phone, classroom visits, video appointments (Teams, etc.), text, and face-to-face conversation.
• Refer and/or assist students with navigating both college services and community services and resources when appropriate.  These referrals include interventions to address mental health issues, disability support services, food or housing insecurities, financial aid assistance, and more.  Assist in scheduling appointments with these resources when necessary. 
• Coordinate and execute student engagement events to attract prospective students and retain current students.
• Provide support to the facilitator in overseeing Bullitt County Public Schools dual credit classes, enrollment processes, and pathway alignment by assisting with communication and coordination with the school system, and by helping manage the full dual credit enrollment cycle—including school visits, class request facilitation, student advising and enrollment, billing inquiries, and ensuring final grades are posted.
• Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree (related field) and one year of related experience, or equivalent. Must have a valid driver’s license and/or reliable transportation. Must have the ability to work some evening and weekend events as needed.
This position requires occasional travel to the Bullitt Campus as needed; however, the primary work location will be the Southwest Campus.
