Job Summary
Maysville Community and Technical College is now inviting applications for the position of Aviation Maintenance Technology (AMT) Instructor at the Maysville Campus. The initial term contract is for ten month contract.
Job Duties:
This faculty position for aviation provides the leadership necessary to work cooperatively with KCTCS and MCTC school faculties, administrative teams, and appropriate units within the college to implement all aspects of the aviation program in relation to instruction, record keeping, tools, equipment, and supply needs. This position will be responsible for teaching Aviation Maintenance courses within the technical program to postsecondary students.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records according to all KCTCS, MCTC, and FAA policies and regulations.
Report necessary shop and equipment maintenance needs to assure that all required equipment is in good working order, meets FAA certification requirements, and is ready for instructional use.
Teach classes as assigned by academic administration and facilitate the smooth operation of all aspects of the aviation program.
Document all absences and keep other student and program records as requested by supervisors.
Perform other duties as assigned by the designated supervisor.
Other duties include academic advising, course and curriculum development, institutional service, community service, leadership and professional development.
Provides follow-up services to assist in student placement and promote public relations. Serves on committees as required, keeps regular posted office hours, and undertakes other assignments as directed by supervisor. May be required to teach evening or weekend classes as needed.
Minimum Qualifications:
· FAA Airframe and Powerplant Mechanic Certification. (Required) · All applicants must meet FAA Licensure/Certification requirements for the occupation. (Required) · Five (5) years successful work experience in the AMT field as a FAA certified technician. (Preferred) · FAA Inspection Authorization. (Preferred) · Associate’s degree with courses in Math, Science, or aviation. (Required) · Three (3) years of successful teaching in the field of aviation maintenance or other related experiences. (Preferred) · Prior experience or training with Blackboard online course delivery system (Preferred).
