Job Summary
The Director’s Office at the Bullitt Campus of Jefferson Community and Technical College is seeking a full-time temporary Student Support Specialist II. This role offers the opportunity to collaborate with internal departments and external partners to drive student success. The department operates in a dynamic, team-oriented, and student-centered environment dedicated to excellence and innovation.
Job Duties:
The primary responsibilities of this position include serving as the initial point of contact to support student enrollment services—such as assessment, advising, and referrals—at the Bullitt County extended campus, as well as facilitating and supporting campus-wide initiatives.
• Serve as support to Bullitt Campus Director
• Provide administrative support including but not limited to completing college paperwork for all steps in the purchasing process, room reservations, maintenance requests and related event requests.
• Develop and co-create educational programming and activities across the Bullitt campus that promote growth in social and cultural awareness, leadership skills, personal development, and service while fostering a sense of belonging through engaging initiatives that empower students to develop as leaders and active, engaged citizens
• Administer all college placement assessments at the Bullitt Campus while communicating directly with testers and students about testing policies, rules, and procedures.
• Lead matriculation efforts for Bullitt County Public Schools dual credit students, facilitating their transition to Jefferson Community and Technical College, while developing initiatives to support traditional adult learners in enrolling and succeeding at the institution
• Advise Jefferson students, both in-person and virtually, including first-time freshmen, undecided majors, and those pursuing various degree programs. Maintain a caseload of current and returning students identified with the home campus of Bullitt Campus while assisting with General Education and Technical Program advising
• Leverage retention management software to efficiently schedule appointments, document advising notes, provide appropriate referrals, and generate detailed reports to support student success initiatives,
• Collaborate with the marketing office on communications, social media advertisements and requesting Jefferson promotional material for special outreach efforts as needed
• Participate in committees, work groups, and professional development activities.
• May be required to travel between extended campuses, Southwest and Bullitt County for special outreach efforts.
• Occasional evenings and weekends may be required.
• Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
Associate’s degree (related field), and one year of related experience, or equivalent. Must have a valid driver’s license and/or reliable transportation.

Bachelor’s degree (related field), and one-year related experience, or equivalent. Must have a valid driver’s license and/or reliable transportation.
Preference extended to candidates with strong:
• Computer literacy, presentation, and time-management skills.
• Ability to work supportively in a culturally diverse environment of students, faculty, staff, and the community
• Ability to work collaboratively in a highly focused team environment.
• Positive attitude with community/student/partner-centered focus.
• Experience in event planning and/or project management and managing budgets.
• Ability to engage colleagues and partners virtually.
This is a temporary assignment with the potential of transitioning into a permanent role.
