Job Duties:
WKCTC seeks to secure a dynamic leader for the Director of Academic Advising & Assessment position. The director provides vision and direction for student-centered advising and is responsible for leading a comprehensive integrated approach to advising that intentionally advances student success. The Director is responsible for implementing advising tools as well as advising programs/initiatives to provide the best quality advising services for students. The Director serves on college and KCTCS system-level committees to assist in decision-making and adheres to other college duties as assigned.
• Responsible for the management, supervision, and leadership of the Academic Advising team.
• Serves as a subject matter expert to advisors, current and prospective students and provides advising and counseling to current and prospective students.
• Coordinates all academic advising activities and services.
• Creates advising resources and training for faculty and provides academic advising to students and prospects.
• Oversees the interpretation of student data, reporting, and surveys.
• Responsible for the maintenance of information on the advising web site.
• Manages the Advising Center budget.
• Refers students desiring personal advising assistance to appropriate office/resources at college.
• Participates in and provides continuing professional development to college advisors and represents the college in the community and professional functions.
• Collaborates in the college’s strategic planning efforts.
Minimum Qualifications:
Master’s Degree in related field and 3 years’ experience or equivalent
