Job Summary

The Environmental Services Department at Jefferson Community and Technical College has an opening for a full-time Custodial Worker for the Downtown campus. This is a second shift position (2 pm to 10pm).

Job Duties:

The primary duties of these positions are to perform general cleaning of the campus and stocking of supplies as needed. Other duties include but are not limited to:
Provide clean and sanitary facilities for students, staff, faculty, and the general public on a daily basis.
Perform floor maintenance such as shampooing carpet, sweeping, moping, stripping, waxing and buffing.
Perform other duties as assigned
Ensures cleanliness, orderliness, and safety in assigned areas.
1. Utilizes basic equipment and supplies to clean assigned facility areas and remove waste and recyclables.
2. Monitors and secures facility interior and exterior entrances, reports issues to appropriate entities.
3. Maintains organization of supply areas and equipment, documents inventory and requests additional supplies as needed.
General classroom or building cleaning, bathroom cleaning and sanitation and simple floor care.

Minimum Qualifications:

High School/GED, and one-year related experience, or equivalent 

Preferred Qualifications:

Previous cleaning and custodial experience, Knowledge of cleaning machines and cleaning tools

☒ Moderate: Regularly involves lifting, bending, or other physical exertions – often exposed to disagreeable environmental elements (heat, cold, dirt, chemicals, etc.)
