Title: History Instructor Full-Time

Salary Range: $50,000.00 annually

Contract Term Length: 10 Months

Standard Hours: 37.50

Job Summary

Brief description of job’s primary purpose (This will be your online advertisement):
The Behavioral and Social Sciences Division has an anticipated opening for a full-time History Instructor. This position will be responsible for full-time instruction in History both online and in the classroom, maintaining office hours for mentoring and coaching students, success and retention activities, and utilization of Microsoft Outlook and Blackboard for course delivery, communication, and feedback.

Job Duties:

Other duties include but are not limited to:
• Academic advising
• Course and curriculum development
• Internal and external community service
• Educational leadership and professional development.

This position requires professionalism and good communication skills, including providing feedback and maintaining regular communication with students, within a reasonable period, outside of the classroom.

This position may be teaching classes at any of the Jefferson campuses; Downtown, Southwest, Bullitt, Carrollton, and Shelbyville.

Minimum Qualifications:

Requires a Master’s Degree or higher with a minimum of 18 credit hours in History 

Preferred Qualifications:

Master’s Degree or higher specifically in History with teaching experience at the college level online and in-person. Familiarity with community colleges and their mission is a plus.
