Standard Hours: Up to 24 per week

Job Summary

Gateway Community & Technical College is seeking a Part-Time Facilities Worker to join our Maintenance & Operations team at the Edgewood Campus. This role is essential in ensuring a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for students, faculty, staff, and visitors. The Facilities Worker will perform routine custodial tasks, basic maintenance, and groundskeeping duties to support the overall functionality and appearance of campus facilities.

Work Hours

  • Monday - Friday 5:15 pm - 10:15 pm

Job Duties:

  • Performs general custodial duties utilizing basic equipment and supplies to clean assigned facility areas, removing waste, completing daily cleaning of restrooms, classrooms, and offices based on the schedule provided by the supervisor.
  • Basic janitorial duties
  • Grounds-keeping
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and pleasant atmosphere for students, faculty, and staff.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School/GED
  • 6 months of related experience
  • Ability to effectively communicate using auditory and visual methods, ability to distinguish colors, and follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Must be able to lift up to 100 pounds occasionally. Primarily use close vision (clear vision at 20 inches or less).
  • Detail-oriented, self-motivated, able to work independently and adapt seamlessly to fast-paced, dynamic environments.
  • Skilled in engaging and supporting students from different cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities effectively and meet tight deadlines
