Salary Range: $48,168- $60,204 (Salary is to commensurate with education/experience and internal equity)

Contract Term Length: 12 Months

Standard Hours: 37.5 (Some night and weekend work required)

Job Summary

The Data Visualization Coordinator is responsible for supporting the effective communication and appropriate use of institutional data through collaboration, information visualization, and the development, calculation, validation, and maintenance of performance measures. The position supports systemwide data governance efforts by promoting data quality, consistency, and shared understanding of data definitions and metrics. Responsibilities include developing and maintaining documentation, providing training and guidance on data and reporting tools, and fulfilling both standard and ad hoc data requests.

Positions with the KCTCS System Office located in Versailles, KY are term-contract positions, with the expectancy of continuance based on performance.

KCTCS offers a hybrid work schedule with a requirement to be onsite a minimum of 3 days per work week. Hybrid work schedules are subject to periodic review and may be modified or terminated at any time

Job Duties:

Maintain and develop internal and external data visualizations (e.g. dashboards, infographics) emphasizing robust data loading and validation processes to support accurate, efficient, and timely publication.

Responsible for ensuring the consistency and accuracy of performance metrics across multiple platforms. This includes coordinating within ORPA (Office of Research and Policy Analysis) to validate data; maintaining responsibility for the development, calculation, and ongoing maintenance of assigned performance metrics; and creating internal documentation to promote consistency, efficiency, and repeatability in routine work (e.g., performance measure calculations and dashboard updates).

Collaborate closely with ORPA (Office of Research and Policy Analysis) and other departments, including participation on systemwide committees and cross‑functional teams, to address data quality issues, define and align metrics, and streamline data processes in support of data governance efforts. This collaboration prioritizes the needs of functional areas to deliver timely, accurate information in support of leadership priorities and ad hoc data requests.

Provide timely responses to ad hoc data requests while developing and maintaining scalable processes to support the efficient update of recurring requests.

Develop user‑focused documentation and training resources to support college IR/IE staff and other audiences in understanding data logic, data definitions, and the appropriate use of data products.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree and four (4) years of relevant experience or equivalent. 

Preferred Qualifications:

Master's Degree and six (6) years of relevant experience or equivalent

Preferred Master's degree with a focus on Higher Education, Institutional Research/Reporting, or Computer Science. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Access/Excel), Tableau, OBIEE, Power BI or data warehouse is necessary.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Access/Excel), Tableau, OBIEE, Power BI or data warehouse is necessary. Would prefer 7 years of experience related to this field.
