Title: Instructor/Coordinator of Orthotics and Prosthetics Technology

Salary Range: $3,634 - $4,996 per month

Contract Term Length: 12 Months

Standard Hours: 37.5 per week

Work Location: On-Site

Job Summary

Bluegrass Community and Technical College is hiring a full-time instructor/program director with a broad background in Orthotics and Prosthetics Technology. The instructor will teach various formats within the Orthotic and Prosthetic Technology Program which includes Hybrid (online) lecture, competency based, and hands on labs. Classes will be administered in accordance to NCOPE and CAAHEP standards. This position will primarily work on the Leestown Campus.

Job Duties:

Provide instruction in the areas of Orthotics and Prosthetics Technology.

Collaborate with business and industry to maintain an awareness of current Orthotics and Prosthetics technologies, trends, and issues.

Provide academic advising and career-related counseling for students.

Engage in recruitment and retention activities through programming at secondary schools, community partners, and professional organizations.

Participate in faculty professional development activities to include employer sponsored training.

Maintain NCOPE and CAAHEP accreditation through completion of required reports and updates.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree
    AND
  • Credentialed in the profession of orthotics and/or prosthetics by a national credentialing organization accredited by the National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA) OR hold a professional license as is required by the state of Kentucky
     

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Have a minimum of five years of teaching, clinical and administrative experience in a profession related to orthotics and prosthetics.

  • Master’s degree.

  • Experience with NCOPE and CAAHEP accreditation standards.
