Job Summary
Full-time 12-month, non-tenured faculty appointment in the EMS-Paramedic program.
Job Duties:
- Instruction in Paramedic program approved curriculum
- Evaluation and assessment of students in a clinical setting
- Participate with periodic review and revision of course materials
- Support and assist the Program Director to help assure effective program operation and accreditation
- Orient clinical site and EMS agency preceptors to ensure education objectives are met
- Schedule students with clinical sites and EMS agencies
- Maintain current knowledge of the discipline through continuing professional development
- Travel and instruction on various campuses may be required
- Other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications:
- Associate Degree (minimum)
- Knowledgeable about current versions of the National EMS Scope of Practice and National EMS Education Standards and evidenced-informed clinical practice
- Current Paramedic license or current National Registry Paramedic certification
- Completion of a KBEMS approved EMS educator course that meets the objectives of the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) and possess a valid KBEMS
- Paramedic Level Instructor certification
- Documented experience in emergency medicine/prehospital care
