Job Summary

The Humanities Division at Jefferson Community and Technical College has an opening to teach online multiple levels of Japanese at various Jefferson Campuses. This position begins in the summer semester, June 2026.

Job Duties:

to teach courses, maintain some office hours for mentoring and coaching students, success and retention activities, and utilization of a learning management system such as Blackboard for communication and feedback

Minimum Qualifications:

Eighteen graduate hours in Japanese or Eastern Studies and a Master’s degree, or a Master’s degree in the teaching discipline required. 

Preferred Qualifications:

• This position requires the ability to work with a diverse constituency of students, faculty, staff, and the public.
• Candidates who have demonstrated a commitment to working with all students through teaching, mentoring, or administration are especially encouraged to apply.
• Candidates skilled in engaging and supporting students from different cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds.
