Salary Range: $3,689- $4,611

Job Summary

This position will be responsible for teaching 36 credit hours annually. This includes creation, update, and delivery of course content, utilization of a learning management system such as Blackboard for communication and feedback, curriculum development, course design, and student outcome assessment.

Additional requirements are regular availability for students through office hours, and any college/system required trainings, meetings and professional development.

Job Duties:

  • Teach transferable general Biology lectures and laboratories.

  • Develop syllabi, course materials, exams, etc.

  • Set up lab exams.

  • Use technology in lectures, laboratories, and online to enhance student learning.

  • Work closely with fellow Biology and Natural Sciences faculty.

  • Adhere to all institutional policies and procedures.

  • Maintain appropriate standards of professional conduct and ethics.

  • Participate in division meetings and required College meetings.

  • Complete all required college and system training.

  • Engage in an appropriate level of professional development as a faculty member.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Master's degree or above in Biology.

    Or

  • Master's degree or above in any subject with a minimum of 18 graduate hours completed in Biology or closely related subject matter.  

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience teaching at the college level.

  • Qualification to teach general Anatomy and Physiology and/or Microbiology.
