Job Summary

Southeast KY Community & Technical College is seeking a dedicated and experienced Lineman Instructor to lead and manage our Lineman Training Program at the Harlan Campus. This role is responsible for overseeing program operations, providing instruction, maintaining equipment, and ensuring student success in the electrical utility industry.  This position is grant funded.

Job Duties:

• Program Leadership & Instruction:
• Teach the Lineman course curriculum.
• Maintain compliance with Electrical Utility Safety Rules and procedures.
• Manage security and maintenance of the lineman training field and lab facilities.
• Order and maintain supplies, tools, and materials.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA safety regulations and industry standards.
• Student Recruitment, Success & Employer Engagement
• Work with workforce staff to recruit program applicants.
• Advise and support students regarding job opportunities and career pathways.
• Collaborate with employers to generate job leads for students.
• Track and manage student attendance and job placement rates.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Associate degree in related field with a minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in the utility industry.
• CDL Class A license (current).
• Flagger Certification, OSHA 10 Certification, and CPR Certification required.
• Minimum one year of supervisory experience.
• Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
• Ability to deliver course material using various instructional methods.
• Proven problem-solving and critical-thinking skills in an educational or administrative setting
