Salary Range: $57,000.00 - $61,000.00

Contract Term Length: 10 Months

Standard Hours: 37.50

Job Summary

The Manufacturing Division of Jefferson Community and Technical College is seeking a full-time Machining Instructor. This position will be responsible for full-time instruction, maintaining office hours for mentoring and coaching students, success and retention activities, and utilization of Blackboard for communication and feedback, with an emphasis on recruiting and building the program. This successful candidate will teach primarily in Shelbyville but also may be required to teach in Louisville.

Job Duties:

Other duties include but are not limited to:
• Prepares lesson plans, instructional activities, and maintains records and reports on student learning.
• Plans and carries out instruction, in both theory and practice, in CNC and manual machining.
• Prepares students for careers in CNC and manual machining
• Course and curriculum development.
• Cultivates industry partnerships.
• Academic advising.
• Internal and external service.
• Educational leadership and professional development.
• Active in student recruiting. This includes businesses and high schools
• Participates in professional development activities to improve teaching skills and technical expertise in the area taught.
• Serves on committees as required, keeps regular posted office hours, and undertakes other assignments as directed by supervisor.

Minimum Qualifications:

Associates Degree and 4 years of related work, or work experience in the field and/or appropriate apprenticeship.  

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with FANUC, Hurco, Bridgeport and Wire EDM controllers/equipment. The candidate should also be familiar with MasterCam, Autodesk Inventor and Microsoft Office. Experience in 3D printing technology.
