Job Summary

Maysville Community & Technical College is seeking a motivated and dependable individual to join our team as a Part-Time Facilities Worker II. This position, located at the Rowan (Morehead) Campus, plays a vital role in maintaining the cleanliness, safety, and overall functionality of campus facilities to support a positive environment for students, faculty, staff, and visitors. This is a part-time, temporary classified position with no benefits other than those required by law.

Job Duties:

Perform daily cleaning of classrooms and offices, including dusting, trash removal, window cleaning, vacuuming, wiping baseboards, and cleaning ceilings.

Conduct daily cleaning, disinfecting, and maintenance of restrooms to ensure a sanitary environment.

Assist with grounds maintenance, including emptying outdoor trash receptacles and general outdoor upkeep.

Move and arrange furniture and equipment for classes, events, and special activities.

Perform floor care and maintenance tasks such as sweeping, mopping, carpet shampooing, stripping, waxing, and buffing floors.

Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

High school diploma or GED equivalent required.

Ability to perform a variety of physical tasks, including lifting, standing, bending, and operating equipment.

Must be able to stand, walk, move, lift, and climb steps for extended periods of time.

Strong attention to detail with the ability to work independently and take initiative.

Effective communication skills and a demonstrated ability to work well as part of a team. 

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with maintenance/housekeeping.

Additional Skills Requested:

Previous experience in custodial or maintenance work is preferred.
