Job Summary
Jefferson Community and Technical College is seeking a Lineman Training Program Coordinator. The Coordinator provides comprehensive oversight of the lineman training program, ensuring seamless coordination of scheduling, student recruitment, student enrollment, compliance, equipment procurement, industry engagement, and post-program reporting. This role serves as the central point of coordination between students, instructors, workforce partners, vendors, and employers to support successful program delivery and workforce outcomes.
Job Duties:
*Program Administration:
Oversee student recruitment, which includes attending job fairs, delivering presentations, and engaging in other outreach activities to attract prospective candidates to the program.
Coordinate annual and quarterly training schedules, orientations, certifications, curriculum, and instructional support activities to ensure consistent and compliant program delivery.
•Student Enrollment & Compliance:
Manage application processing, rosters, waitlists, and student eligibility requirements, including medical certifications, CDL permits, tuition, and workforce funding documentation.
•Student Support & Communication:
Serve as the primary liaison for students, providing guidance on program requirements, timelines, financial resources, and progression milestones.
•Industry & Workforce Partnerships:
Coordinate employer engagement activities, including resume/interview preparation, graduate showcases, advisory meetings, and collaboration with workforce agencies, veterans’ services, and scholarship partners.
•Operational & Event Coordination:
Oversee orientations, tours, first-day readiness, graduations, and family events, ensuring accurate documentation, materials, and logistics.
Assist with program budget planning and monitor throughout the year.
•Equipment & Resource Management:
Coordinate procurement and inventory of training equipment, tools, safety gear, and supplies in alignment with institutional and grant-funded purchasing requirements.
Oversee vehicle/equipment maintenance and repairs.
•Records, Reporting & Quality Assurance:
Maintain accurate student and class records, support grading and evaluation processes, and ensure timely reporting and documentation for institutional and workforce partners.
Minimum Qualifications:
*Bachelor's degree in education, workforce development, business administration, or a related field; OR equivalent combination of education and relevant experience. Project management a plus.
*Ability to organize, prioritize, and execute complex program logistics with accuracy and consistency
*Ability to work effectively with internal teams, external agencies, vendors, and industry partners
*Ability to respond proactively to changing program needs, student issues, and operational challenges
*Ability to support employer partnerships, advisory committees, and workforce alignment initiatives.
*Student-focused mindset with a commitment to workforce success and program quality.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with workforce development programs, technical training, or skilled trades education
*Familiarity with CDL requirements, DOT compliance, or safety-sensitive training environments
*Experience working with workforce funding sources (e.g., WIOA, veterans’ benefits, scholarships, or grants)
*Experience coordinating purchasing, vendors, or equipment procurement
*Experience working with employer advisory boards or industry partners
*Experience coordinating schedules and events
*Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and learning management systems or student information systems (Blackboard and Peoplesoft).
Additional Skills Requested:
This position requires the supervision of two employees.
