Job Summary

Duties will involve coordination, implementation and delivery of project activities and processes in accordance with a developed scope of work, assist navigators, and college staff with fulfilment of project responsibilities, oversee career-related programming and supervise and support career navigators and administrative personnel. The Manager/Director reports to the Director of Career Services and Work-based Learning.

Job Duties:

  • Oversees career, employment, and work-based learning at BCTC.  Provides leadership in the promotion and development of career service initiatives for employers in business and industry and BCTC students.

  • Develops relationships with business and industry partners to promote BCTC work-based learning opportunities for students and graduates.

  • Directs the development and implementation of high-impact services such as facilitating entrepreneurial opportunities in small business development and business mentorship for students and graduates.

  • Provides leadership, supervision, and long-term planning for the Career, Employment, and Work-Based Learning area as it related to the Strengthening Institutions Program Grant.

  • Works collaboratively with Strategic Communications, Admissions, Student Success Hub, and Advising to assist with onboarding as it relates to all credential seeking students in an effort to facilitate early career/major selection.

  • Works collaboratively with Student Success Career Coaches/Advisors to ensure staff is prepared/trained to provide career assessment services to current applicants/students, ensuring placement into the appropriate career pathway.

  • Directs the development and implementation of career services related to established pathways.

  • Trained in KCTCS accounting procedures and receive copies of weekly and monthly budget reports shared with the Project Manager to track expenditures and monitor milestone completions and will devote 100% time to this project.

  • Supervise Career Navigators to ensure a holistic Career Services experience for students.

  • Directs the development and implementation of career services related to established pathways.

  • Participates in professional organizations and professional development.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelors degree and one year experience or equivalent
 

Preferred Qualifications:

Baccalaureate degree and at least three years related project management experience
