Job Summary
The Instructor / Fieldwork Coordinator is a full-time faculty member responsible for didactic instruction, coordination and oversight of Level I and Level II fieldwork education, and compliance with ACOTE accreditation standards. This position supports student learning through classroom instruction, clinical education coordination, assessment, and collaboration with fieldwork sites to ensure high-quality experiential learning.
Job Duties:
• Deliver instruction using multiple modalities, including face-to-face, hybrid, accelerated, and online formats.
• Develop, implement, evaluate, and revise curriculum consistent with ACOTE standards and program outcomes.
• Foster an active, inclusive learning environment and utilize the institution’s learning management system for communication, assessment, and feedback.
• Maintain office hours and provide academic advising to students.
• Plan, develop, maintain, and evaluate fieldwork education in collaboration with the Program Director.
• Establish and maintain contracts and affiliations with fieldwork sites.
• Communicate regularly with fieldwork educators to ensure learning objectives and expectations are met.
• Ensure fieldwork experiences meet ACOTE standards for Level I and Level II fieldwork.
• Educate students and fieldwork educators on fieldwork policies, procedures, and evaluation processes.
• Monitor student progress in fieldwork placements and provide appropriate guidance, remediation, and support.
• Collect and analyze fieldwork data for program evaluation and accreditation purposes.
• Participate in curriculum development, program assessment, and accreditation activities.
• Engage in department and college committees, service activities, and professional development.
• Contribute to recruitment, retention, and student success initiatives.
• Maintain professional competence and licensure/certification requirements.
Minimum Qualifications:
• Holds a minimum of a bachelor’s degree, master’s degree preferred.
• Is a licensed Occupational Therapist (OTR/L) or Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA/L) with current, unrestricted state licensure.
• Has a minimum of three (3) years documented professional experience in occupational therapy practice.
• Demonstrates knowledge of and ability to comply with ACOTE accreditation standards, particularly those related to fieldwork education.
• Demonstrates proficiency in instruction, curriculum design, student evaluation, supervision, and academic advising.
• Exhibits strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
