Job Summary

Big Sandy Community and Technical College is accepting application for part-time instructors to teach an array of physics courses in-person and/or online. The part-time instructor will be responsible for instructing physics lectures and/or labs, administering and grading associated homework, exams, and lab reports.

Part-time instructors are paid $515.00 per college credit hour.

Job Duties:

• Plans and carries out instruction, instructional activities and prepares learning materials.
• Provides instruction to students in the subject area.
• Prepares lesson plans (as needed) and maintains records and reports on student
  attainment, attendance/activity progress.
• Utilizes approved online course template and syllabus format.
• Ensures online courses meet standards as set forth by the college.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Master’s degree with a minimum of 18 graduate hours in Physics and/or another qualifying
   field.
• Teaching and Blackboard experience preferred.
• Credentials must be granted from a regionally accredited institution of higher education.
• A passion for teaching undergraduate students and an ability to work with a team
   effectively is essential to success in this position.
• Experience with online teaching is preferred.

Student Support Specialist II/Coordinator Ready to Work Program

The KCTCS Ready to Work (RTW) program is a partnership between the Kentucky Community and Technical College System and the KY Cabinet for Health & Family Services, Department for Community Based Services. The KCTCS Ready to Work program is grant funded and funded through June 30, 2027. KCTCS will be requesting a continuation budget for the Ready to Work Contract. This position will serve students in Clinton, Cumberland, McCreary, and Wayne Counties. Weekly travel to service areas will be required to meet with students and community partners. Travel to other counties will be required for job training, professional development and meetings. SCC offers college vehicle reservations and travel reimbursement when applicable.
