Tuition Waiver

All Colleges within KCTCS offer tuition waivers to employees, spouses and dependent children (age 23 or less, as defined by federal financial aid guidelines) for up to 18 credit hours per year (six hours in the fall, spring, and summer) per person at any KCTCS college.

Community Service Day

KCTCS employees receive 7.5 hours of paid time off to volunteer per Fiscal Year (July 1 – June 30). Spend your day-off volunteering and wearing your College's gear making our community a better place!

Institutional Close

All Colleges within KCTCS observe a two-week institutional closing beginning in December, which will include the day before Christmas Eve, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, and New Year's Day.

Tuition Discounts

KCTCS currently has tuition discount agreements with Morehead State University, Western Kentucky University, and Northern Kentucky University.

Generous Retirement Match

As part of KCTCS, each college offers a 403(b) retirement plan. A 5% employee contribution receives a 10% employer match

This grant funded position will support the Workforce Solutions Fast Track Academy under the SOAR EKY Runway initiative by ensuring accurate enrollment data entry, data integrity, and comprehensive reporting. This position is responsible for managing student enrollment data within the Salesforce platform, generating required reports, analyzing project performance metrics, and supporting data-driven decision-making. The Analyst works collaboratively with the Project Navigator and Director of Workforce Solutions to ensure compliance with grant requirements, provide timely stakeholder reporting, and maintain accurate financial and operational documentation.

Big Sandy Community and Technical College is accepting applications for Project Navigator (Student Support Specialist IV). This grant funded position serves as the primary student success liaison for the Workforce Solutions Fast Track Academy and is responsible for recruiting, onboarding, and providing comprehensive case management services to students enrolled in online workforce training programs. The Navigator helps students successfully complete enrollment requirements, remain engaged in coursework, overcome barriers to completion, and connect with employment opportunities.

Big Sandy Community and Technical College is accepting applications for the Director of the East Kentucky Science Center and Varia Planetarium (EKSC). The EKSC provides strategic, administrative, educational, and operational leadership for the Center and its programs at Big Sandy Community and Technical College. The Director is responsible for advancing the mission of EKSC as a regional resource for science education, astronomy, space science, STEM engagement, tourism, and community outreach. The Director plans, develops, coordinates, and evaluates educational and public programs; supervises and collaborates with Center staff, manages fiscal and personnel operations; maintains and advances planetarium technology and equipment; and develops partnerships and resources to support the continued growth and sustainability of the Center. The position requires regular availability for weekdays, evening, weekend, and special event programming.
