Job Summary

Somerset Community College is seeking an engaging, self-directed individual to serve as a Growth and Engagement Coordinator, primarily serving the Business and Professional Services and Career and Technical Education Divisions and reporting to those respective Deans. The successful candidate will engage students and community stakeholders, providing pertinent program and other information, while aiming to strengthen partnerships and optimize division enrollments. This position will be divided equally between the Somerset and Laurel campuses and will require flexible working hours with travel required within and potentially beyond SCC’s service area and may include the need for reliable transportation in the event college vehicle is not available.

Job Duties:

• Research and be knowledgeable of program requirements for all assigned programs and routinely communicate with academic deans, program coordinators and faculty to ensure that correct information is shared with community stakeholders;

• Assist in meeting enrollment goals for the Business and Professional Services and Career and Technical Education Divisions;

• Schedule and conduct group and individual on-campus tours for visitors, prospective students, parents, etc.

• Develop working relationships with high school guidance counselors, student service agencies, and other influencers;

• Conduct off-campus visits to secondary schools, community-based organizations and other educational institutions within SCC’s service region;

• Develop interactive, engaging presentations aimed at providing participants with pertinent college and career information;

• Represent Somerset Community College at college fairs, receptions, camps;

• Generate correspondence and appropriately follow up in a timely manner with prospective students via phone calls, letters, email, text messages, personal visits, etc.

• Develop and maintain a tracking system of stakeholders to allow for dissemination of information in a timely manner;

• Collect data, generate reports to inform decisions related to recruitment and admission;

• Build and maintain strong relationships with business and industry related to present and projected demands and support program coordinators in planning, organizing and conducting advisory committee meetings;

• Coordinate scheduling of engagement opportunities for deans, program coordinators, faculty and other college personnel with community partners;

• Assist with and/or coordinate special student events and activities;

• Collaborate with SCC marketing and provide content to be shared through available college distribution methods;

• Advise students, especially during peak enrollment times;

• Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

Associate's degree and four (4) years of relevant experience or equivalent.
