Job Summary
The Financial Aid Advisor II will support student enrollment for the 16 colleges of KCTS by providing support for the Dual Credit and State Aid Programs ensuring accuracy and compliance with the applicable state regulations. The Financial Aid Advisor II will also be responsible for processing the Return to Title IV (R2T4) federal funds calculation accurately and in compliance with federal regulations when a student withdraws from a KCTCS College. Additionally, the Financial Aid Advisor II will support effective and compliant administration of federal and state financial aid.
Positions with the KCTCS System Office located in Versailles, KY are term-contract positions, with the expectancy of continuance based on performance.
KCTCS offers a hybrid work schedule with a requirement to be onsite a minimum of 3 days per work week. Hybrid work schedules are subject to periodic review and may be modified or terminated at any time.
Job Duties:
Dual Credit/Financial Aid Liaison - First point of contact regarding Dual Credit/ Work Ready Dual Credit in how it relates to Financial Aid. This includes the Processing and Reconciliation of KHEAA Files; Problem Solving with the 16 Colleges, Dual Credit Staff and the Business Office; Adjustments and corrections in PeopleSoft Student Management System; Communication with External Entities(KHEAA, High Schools, Individual Students).
State Aid Programs - Assist with Processing and Reconciliation of State Aid(CAP, KEES, Work Ready).
Return to Title IV - The Return of Title IV (R2T4) calculation is performed to determine the amount of federal funds the student has earned and the amount of unearned Federal funds for which the school and the student is responsible to return (if any). The Financial Aid Advisor II will ensure accurate calculations of earned and unearned funds and make adjustments in the PeopleSoft Student Management System. The work requires knowledge and proficiency in federal database systems such as the Common Origination and Disbursement System (COD) and the National Student Loan Database System (NSLDS).
Communicate with students - Communication with Students: Including by email, student portal, regarding State Aid, Return to Title IV, and various Financial Aid processes.
Administrative Processes - Assist with Comment Code Resolutions on the FAFSA application by federal agencies including, but not limited to the National Student Loan Database System (NSLDS), United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS), Department of Defense (DOD), and Department of Justice (DOJ).
Training - Attend required training, cross-training, and perform other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree and two (2) years of relevant experience or equivalent.
