Title: Adjunct/As Needed Power BI Instructor

Salary Range: $50.00 an hour (plus prep time and curriculum (when applicable))

Contract Term Length: Not Applicable

Standard Hours: 4-6 hours as needed

Job Summary

The Adjunct Power BI Instructor will deliver introductory, intermediate, and advanced Power BI courses to individuals from diverse business and industry sectors. This role is as needed and involves teaching both in-person and virtual classes, tailored to meet the needs of professionals looking to enhance their data analytics and visualization skills.

The instructor will guide participants in leveraging Power BI for data modeling, reporting, and interactive dashboards, ensuring practical applications in real-world business scenarios. Ideal candidates have expert-level knowledge of Power BI, strong communication skills, and the ability to teach complex concepts in an engaging and accessible way.

Job Duties:

Deliver High-Quality Instruction
• Teach introductory, intermediate, and advanced Power BI courses to professionals across various industries.
• Provide clear explanations and demonstrations of Power BI features, including data modeling, report creation, and dashboard design.

Develop and Update Curriculum
• Design, develop, and update course materials (syllabus, lesson plans, presentations) to reflect current Power BI functionalities and industry best practices.
• Ensure that curriculum covers real-world applications of Power BI for diverse business needs and sectors.

Customize Training for Business Needs
• Tailor lessons to the specific data analytics needs of various sectors, incorporating relevant case studies and examples.
• Collaborate with clients to develop customized course content aligned with their industry challenges and goals.

Stay Updated with Power BI Developments
• Continuously stay informed about new Power BI features and updates, incorporating them into the curriculum to maintain relevance.
• Attend industry events, webinars, or conferences to stay ahead of trends in data analytics and visualization.


Minimum Qualifications:

Proficiency in Power BI
• Extensive experience with Power BI, including data modeling, report creation, and dashboard design.
• In-depth knowledge of Power BI tools such as Power Query, DAX (Data Analysis Expressions)and Power BI Service.

Professional Experience in Data Analytics
• Relevant work experience in data analytics, business intelligence, or a related field where Power BI was used for business applications.
• Proven ability to apply Power BI in real-world scenarios across various business sectors.

Teaching or Training Experience
• Prior experience in teaching, training, or facilitating workshops in Power BI or related data analytics tools.
• Ability to explain complex technical concepts to learners with varying levels of expertise in an engaging and accessible manner.

Strong Communication Skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively convey information to diverse audiences.

Curriculum Development Skills
• Experience in developing or adapting course materials, including lesson plans, presentations, and hands-on exercises.

Technical Skills
• Familiarity with Microsoft Excel and other data-related tools or platforms commonly used alongside Power BI.
• Competence in using online teaching platforms for virtual instruction (e.g., Zoom, Teams, or similar).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • A degree or relevant certifications in data analytics, computer science, business intelligence, or a related field (preferred but not required).
  • Power BI certifications, such as Microsoft Certified: Data Analyst Associate, (preferred but not required).
