Title: Adjunct Faculty - HVAC (Air Conditioning Technology)

Job Summary

This is a part time, adjunct appointment in the Skilled Trades Division at the Leestown campus. The position requires flexibility of scheduling, which will require evening and possible mid-day classes based on availability.

Most classes will be taught from 5:00PM - 9:50PM weekdays only. Position could work one night or multiple nights based on need.

Job Duties:

  1. Provides instruction to students in both theory and practice of the various aspects of Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning and Refrigeration related subject areas.
  2. Prepares lessons, maintains records, and reports on students’ attainment and progress.
  3. Maintains order and discipline and provides ethics and employability training within course taught.
  4. Ensures that appropriate safety policies and procedures are developed and implemented in the HVAC Laboratories.
  5. Maintains program equipment and Lab areas.
  6. Keeps abreast of technical changes in the field and keeps course material up to date.
  7. Participates in professional development and training activities to improve teaching skills and technical expertise in the area taught.
  8. Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications*:

  • Associates Degree or higher in a related field AND three (3) years related work experience in the HVAC field AND certifications and licensures required for the course being taught
    OR
    Proven competence through an HVAC diploma or ESCO exams AND five (5) years related work experience in the HVAC field AND certifications and licensures required for the courses being taught
