Job Summary

Big Sandy Community & Technical College seeks qualified applicants for Adjunct Pharmacy Technician Instructor to teach in a Pharmacy Technician education program that prepares students for entry level employment and successful completion of the Pharmacy Technician Certification Exam (PTCE) administered by the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB). Instruction may be delivered online.

Job Duties:

Teach assigned Pharmacy Technician courses in accordance with approved syllabi and program outcomes. Deliver instruction aligned with PTCB certification requirements, including:
 Pharmacology for pharmacy technicians
 Pharmacy law and regulations
 Medication, safety and quality assurance
 Pharmacy calculations and order processing
 Pharmacy operations, inventory management, and billing
 Sterile and non sterile compounding concepts (as applicable)
 Conduct laboratory instruction and skills demonstrations reflective of current pharmacy practice
 Assess student learning through exams, labs, and practical evaluations
 Maintain accurate records of attendance, grades, and student performance
 Provide timely feedback and academic support to promote student success
 Model professional, ethical behavior consistent with pharmacy standards
 Comply with college policies, FERPA requirements, and accreditation standards

Course Details:
• Duration: 7 weeks
• Schedule: Flexible to accommodate instructor availability
• Focus: Preparing students thoroughly for the PTCB exam

Minimum Qualifications:

• Licensed Pharmacist strongly preferred OR
• Certified Pharmacy Technician with a minimum of 3 years of pharmacy technician experience considered
• Teaching or training experience preferred
