Job Summary

Big Sandy Community and Technical College is seeking a detail and customer service oriented Administrative Assistant I to join our General Education Division. This role provides essential administrative and operational support to the dean, faculty, and students across General Education programs. The ideal candidate will be organized, collaborative, and committed to supporting student success and academic excellence.

Job Duties:

• Enter and maintain course schedules for General Education Division each term; process schedule changes as requested by Deans and distribute weekly updated schedules.
• Process overloads, program coordinator stipends and adjunct contracts for division.
• Order and manage classroom and laboratory supplies for nine General Education programs.
• Maintain and reconcile expense budgets, including procard edits, for all Gen Ed budgets.
• Coordinate faculty travel arrangements including registration and airfare.
• Assist with data collection and assessment projects such as FYE 105 student surveys and General Education competency tracking.
• Provide clerical and administrative support to faculty and Deans, including syllabi preparation, office schedules, correspondence, and meeting minutes.
• Assist with event planning and logistics for Meta Majors, STEAM Day, Student Orientation, and Graduate Profile Academy.
• Ensure lobby area is welcoming through bulletin board and lobby decorations.
• Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with budget tracking systems.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.
• Commitment to student-centered service and teamwork.
 

Preferred Qualifications:

• Associate’s degree in relevant field
• Minimum of two years of experience
• Experience using Peoplesoft software.
