Job Summary
Jefferson Community and Technical College is seeking a dynamic and dedicated individual to join our team as a “Navigator”. This unique role combines the responsibilities of guiding students through their academic journey while also actively recruiting prospective students to join our institution. The ideal candidate will have a passion for education, excellent communication skills, and the ability to build strong relationships with students and educational partners.
Job Duties:
• Develop and implement recruitment strategies to attract prospective students to the college.
• Build and maintain relationships with high school counselors, community organizations, and other educational partners.
• Represent the college at high school visits, college fairs, community and on campus events.
• Conduct informational sessions and campus tours for prospective students and their families.
• Work closely with high school counselors/personnel to host on-boarding and enrollment events and workshops for students.
• Assistance with incoming document processing.
• Assist students with identifying majors/programs that would align with their educational and career goals.
• Assist students in course selection, registration, and understanding degree requirements.
• Assist students with making early connections to support services for academic and non-academic challenges, including referrals to tutoring, accessibility, and other resources.
• Maintain accurate records of student interactions and progression.
• Maintain regular contact with students during onboarding process (application to beginning of semester) to aid in retention and ensure students are ready to successfully start classes.
• Serve on college wide committees as needed
Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree or a related field
• Experience in academic advising, college admissions, student recruitment, or related fields.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and student information systems.
• Ability to travel with reliable transportation to and from work sites including nights and weekends for recruitment events.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Master’s degree preferred

• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to build rapport with students and community partners.
• Strong presentation and public speaking skills.
• Knowledge of higher education trends and best practices in student recruitment and retention.
