Salary Range: $4014- $5017

Contract Term Length: 12 Months

Standard Hours: 37.5 per week

Job Summary

Bluegrass Community and Technical College is hiring a full-time instructor with a broad background in Commercial Driver Licensing (CDL). The instructor will teach various formats within the CDL Program which includes Hybrid (online) lecture, competency based, and hands on labs. This position will work day and some evening hours on the Leestown Campus. Based on Workforce demand, instruction could take place in other communities as needed.

Job Duties:

  • Provide instruction so CDL students are well-educated and able to pass written CDL-A permit test, as well as pre-trip, skills, and road tests.

  • Continually evaluate student performance and document progress through attendance forms and checklists.

  • While monitoring student progress, identify any gaps and provide additional help as needed.

  • Emphasize safety concepts, principles, and procedures.

  • Ensure that the trucks are safe, clean, and well-maintained.

  • Provide Bluegrass CDL students with quality training, while maintaining organized records and other various departmental responsibilities.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Five (5) years’ verifiable commercial driving experience as a CDL, Class A driver with a clean driving record.
  • Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License.
  •  

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience teaching CDL, Class A courses.
  • Associate’s degree or higher.
  •
