Salary Range: $7,765- $10,095

Contract Term Length: 12 Months

Job Summary

The Associate Vice President, Organizational Development (Chief Human Resources Officer) works collaboratively with the senior college officers providing leadership in the Human Resources and Professional and Organizational Development divisions. The unit head of POD and Human Resources staff report to this position. The associate vice president reports to the President/CEO for the college.

Job Duties:

General Administrative
1. Provide leadership to the Human Resources and Professional and Organizational Development areas consistent with the mission of the college in cooperation with the Kentucky Community and Technical College System (KCTCS) and senior college officers.
2. Guide functional area strategic and annual planning activities based on the college strategic plan including developing and assessing annual unit plans within the functional area.
3. Provide leadership in close collaboration with the President for employee relations matters.
4. Support effective oversight, evaluation, and assessment processes for HR, PD and OD programs and services.
5. Maintain effective communication in functional areas with all units of the college, other educational institutions, and the community at large.
6. Implement and monitor an annual budget related to the goals and operational needs of the functional areas.
7. Provide supervision of functional directors including orientation, coaching, evaluation, and professional development.
8. Participate in establishing strategic goals and monitoring performance on objectives and strategies to support the college strategic plan.
9. Provide leadership that advances cultural and ethnic diversity in student and employee recruiting.
10. Ensure compliance with Kentucky Community and Technical College System and college policies and procedures including reporting requirements.
11. Participate in professional organizations and professional development opportunities as appropriate.
12. Participate in college and system organizational development activities including service on college or system committees or involvement in other initiatives as assigned.
13. Title IX Coordinator and EEO Officer for college faculty and staff
14. Assume other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the president/CEO.

Functional Area

1. Work with staff to develop policies and procedures to ensure delivery of quality services in human resources, employee benefits, employment contracts, compensation, employee relations, professional development, strategic planning, and state and federal reporting.
2. Develop, recommend, and implement initiatives to enhance and evaluate AOD initiatives to keep pace with changing community and college needs.
3. Provide leadership in developing and improving planning processes linking organizational objectives to college goals.
4. Supervise and develop the directors of each area in the appropriate professional areas.
5. Provide leadership in developing and implementing effective processes and procedures that foster accountability and institutional effectiveness.
6. Support the other senior college officers in the appropriate oversight of functional area personnel and functions.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree and 3-5 years of supervisory experience required; minimum 5-7 years of experience in job family 

Preferred Qualifications:

Master’s degree and professional certifications
