Job Summary
The Dean of Academic Operations supports the Office of Academic Affairs in advancing the college’s mission and strategic goals. This position provides leadership in program coordination, faculty support, compliance, and academic initiatives, ensuring high-quality instruction and institutional effectiveness across academic divisions.
Job Duties:
• Coordinate Academic Scheduling:
Develop, manage, and maintain academic course schedules in collaboration with deans to ensure alignment with student needs and institutional goals.
• Coordinate Perkins Funding:
Oversee the development, management, and reporting of Perkins grant activities; ensure compliance with federal and state guidelines and alignment with workforce education priorities.
• Oversee Teaching Enhancement Center and Professional Development:
Provide leadership, supervision, and coordination of the Teaching Enhancement Center and Professional Development.
• Supervise and Train Part-time Faculty:
Recruit, onboard, supervise, and provide professional development opportunities for part-time faculty to support instructional quality and consistency.
• Coordinate with Dual Credit for the approval of new faculty and course offerings.
Oversee the approval of new dual credit faculty and course offerings as well as assisting ensuring the quality of courses and student success.
• Coordinate Program Guides and Curriculum Revisions:
Facilitate regular updates to program guides, coordinate curriculum review and revision processes, and ensure academic programs meet institutional and accreditation standards.
• Support Academic Affairs Initiatives:
Assist with the development and implementation of new academic initiatives, policies, and projects to enhance instructional programs and student success.
• Participate in Campus-wide Initiatives:
Collaborate with other departments and divisions on cross-functional initiatives that support institutional effectiveness, student engagement, and equity.
• Assist with Accreditation:
Support institutional and programmatic accreditation efforts by gathering data, preparing reports, and coordinating documentation to ensure compliance with accrediting agencies.
• Other Duties as Assigned
Minimum Qualifications:
• Master’s degree required;
• Minimum of five years of progressive experience in higher education administration or academic leadership.
