Job Summary

This position provides strategic leadership and oversight of all KCTCS nursing and nurse aide programs, including academic and workforce training efforts aligned with Kentucky’s nursing healthcare pipeline. The System Director of Nursing Programs leads curriculum alignment, regulatory compliance, and key external partnerships across the system. The role serves as the primary liaison to nursing, healthcare, and educational associations ensuring employer feedback and participation into academic programs. Oversight includes programs such as Kentucky Nurse Aide Training (KNAT) and Kentucky Medical Association (KMA), healthcare vendor contracts, nursing-related grants, and alignment with clinical training requirements and nursing licensure readiness.


Positions with the KCTCS System Office located in Versailles, KY are term-contract positions, with the expectancy of continuance based on performance.

KCTCS offers a hybrid work schedule with a requirement to be onsite a minimum of 3 days per work week.

Hybrid work schedules are subject to periodic review and may be modified or terminated at any time

Job Duties:

Serves as a strategic advisor and leader for all Nursing Curriculum Committees across KCTCS colleges, providing guidance to ensure the alignment of nursing programs to meet evolving licensure standards and employer demands. Leads cross-functional teams in the innovation and expansion of existing and potential offerings along with assisting with implementation of initiatives aimed at enhancing Kentucky’s nursing healthcare workforce. Collaborates closely with presidents, CAOs, and program leaders to drive impactful, data-informed decisions that improve program effectiveness, student outcomes, and workforce readiness. Utilize workforce data and licensure outcomes to refine academic and workforce preparation pathways.

Develops and maintains strategic partnerships with regulatory and professional organizations, including the Kentucky Board of Nursing (KBN), Department for Medicaid Services (DMS), Kentucky Council on Postsecondary Education (CPE), Kentucky Department of Education (KDE), and national accreditors such as ACEN and NLN. Ensures KCTCS programs remain compliant with evolving regulations and aligned with state and national standards. Serves as the system’s lead nursing subject matter expert, representing KCTCS on advisory boards and workgroups to inform policy, advocate for nursing education and workforce priorities, and guide initiatives related to licensure, scope of practice, and direct-care training regulations.

Collaborates closely with the Academic Affairs and cross-functional teams to identify and implement innovative nursing credit-for-prior-learning opportunities, including high school articulation agreements, designed to accelerate student progression, shorten time to program completion, and enhance employability. Spearheads emerging efforts and a novel scope of work at the system level to streamline and expand pathways for students, ensuring alignment with industry needs and workforce demands. Leads a team responsible for securing and administering grants and ensuring comprehensive reporting and compliance. Drives continuous improvement in processes to optimize program efficiency and student success.

Facilitate stakeholder collaboration to incorporate employer feedback and participation into programs through advisory boards and partnerships. Maintains continuous feedback loops with statewide partners and critical stakeholders to inform programmatic innovations that address workforce shortages. These efforts are intentionally aligned with the curriculum review and alignment process to ensure programs remain responsive to evolving industry needs and standards.

Minimum Qualifications:

Master's Degree and three (3) years of relevant experience or equivalent.  

Active RN License

Preferred Qualifications:

Doctorate Degree and five (5) years of relevant experience or equivalent.

Additional Skills Requested:

Certification or Professional License in Nursing Preferred.
