Salary Range: $37944-$45516

Contract Term Length: 12 Months

Job Summary

The Kentucky Fire Commission is committed to enhancing safety and education within the fire service for the citizens and industries within the Commonwealth through standardized special and technical education, training, communication, coordination, and the distribution of funds to the agencies throughout the Commonwealth of Kentucky. The Financial III position provides support for the Manager IV-Financial Operations in the areas of customer invoicing, fire department loan processing and Fire Commission Board members travel reimbursement.

Job Duties:

Invoicing - Work with Fire Commission regional training offices to establish and communicate a timely process for submitting and generating invoice requests. Work with internal partners within the PeopleSoft platform to add or update existing customers.

Loans –Assist fire departments with the completion of loan applications and checklists. Prepare loan reports for Kentucky Fire Commission Board and Division Director. Work with TValue amortization program and Excel spreadsheets to add new or update existing loans.

Aging and Past Due – Identify late loan payments and generate late notices. Communicate with training offices and work with companies and/or fire departments as needed in collection efforts.

Process Fire Commission Board member travel

Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:

Associate’s degree or equivalent 4 years' related experience  

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree preferred with 2 years’ related experience

Additional Skills Requested:

Must have demonstrated experience working with financial data, excellent communication skills and be proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word.
