Job Summary

The Marketing Specialist provides essential executional support for marketing efforts across Gateway Community & Technical College. This role supports the planning and implementation of marketing campaigns, creates and edits written and visual content, manages ticket-based marketing requests, and assists with website updates and maintenance. By handling high-volume, day-to-day marketing work, this position improves efficiency, consistency, and responsiveness while enabling the marketing team to focus on strategic initiatives that deepen institutional reach and impact.

Job Duties:

  • Assists with the execution of marketing campaigns and initiatives across the college, including coordination of timelines, assets, and deliverables to ensure projects are completed accurately and on schedule.
  • Supports the creation and editing of marketing materials such as digital graphics, flyers, signage, email assets, and presentations in alignment with brand standards.
  • Drafts, edits, and formats marketing copy for digital and print use, including emails, web content, internal communications, and promotional materials.
  • Assists with routine website updates, content edits, and page maintenance to ensure accuracy, accessibility, and consistency across college web properties.
  • Manages incoming marketing tickets and requests, tracks progress, coordinates with team members, and supports the timely resolution of requests.
  • Provides general marketing support, including organizing assets, maintaining project documentation, and assisting with reporting or data tracking as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, public relations, communications, or a related field, or equivalent.
  • Ability to manage high-volume workloads with attention to detail and accuracy
  • Basic design and content editing skills
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills
  • Ability to follow brand standards and established processes
  • Comfort working across multiple departments and priorities
  • Detail-oriented, self-motivated, with the ability to work independently and adapt seamlessly to fast-paced, dynamic environments.
  • Skilled in engaging and supporting students from different cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities effectively and meet tight deadlines.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Forms, Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, Word)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in a community college setting
