Job Summary
Jefferson Community and Technical College is seeking an adjunct instructor to provide in-person classroom instruction, laboratory, and/or clinical instruction in the Medical Assisting program. Instructor will support student learning, evaluate performance, maintain accurate records, and follow college policies and accreditation standards. Position begins 8/17/2026.
Job Duties:
• Knowledge of current medical assisting practices, procedures, and standards of care.
• Ability to effectively teach in classroom, laboratory, and clinical settings.
• Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to use instructional technology and learning management systems.
• Effective organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to assess student learning and provide constructive feedback.
• Commitment to professionalism, student success, and maintaining a safe learning environment.
• Ability to work collaboratively with faculty, staff, students, and clinical partners.
Minimum Qualifications:
• Associate degree or higher in Medical Assisting or a related healthcare field.
• Current nationally recognized medical assisting certification.
• At least three years of recent medical assisting experience.
• Strong clinical, communication, and technology skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Previous teaching or clinical instruction experience in a community college, technical college, career and technical education, or allied health program.
• Familiarity with competency-based education and active learning strategies.
• Experience supervising students in laboratory or clinical settings.
• Experience using Blackboard Ultra or another learning management system.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to work effectively with students from diverse educational, cultural, and socioeconomic backgrounds.
• Strong problem-solving, critical thinking, and mentoring skills.
