Salary Range: $56,000 to 58,000.00

Contract Term Length: 10 Months

Job Summary

Jefferson Community and Technical College is seeking a full-time instructor to teach welding within Jefferson County, Oldham County, Shelby County, and Carroll County as needed. Classes will be taught on one of our campuses and in a correctional institution as part of the college’s Prison Education Program. This position begins fall of 2026.

Job Duties:

• The instructor will be teaching classes in:
Shielded Metal Arc Welder (SMAW)
Gas Metal Arc Welder (GMAW)
Gas Tungsten Arc Welder (GTAW)
Oxyfuel Cutting
Plasma Arc Cutting
Blueprint Reading
• The instructor is responsible for showing up prior to the start of class, preparing materials, and instructing lectures and lab courses.
• The instructor will follow a course schedule and grade written and lab assignments that conform to a provided rubric in a timely manner.
• The instructor will provide the necessary instructions and demonstrations for students to achieve the Student Learning Outcomes.
• Instructor will record attendance, report no-shows, and respond to email communications.

Minimum Qualifications:

3 years welding experience in SMAW, GMAW, GTAW, and Oxyfuel Cutting 

Preferred Qualifications:

Associate degree in Welding Technology, 3+ years of Field Experience; Pipe fitting and pipe welding are a plus.

Additional Skills Requested:

Physical Requirements:
Regularly involves lifting, bending, or other physical exertions – often exposed to disagreeable environmental elements (heat, cold, dirt, chemicals, etc.)
