Job Summary
Somerset Community College invites applications for a full-time Medical Lab Technician Program Coordinator- Instructor.
Job Duties:
The successful candidate will provide instruction to students in both theory and practice of the Medical Laboratory Technician Program. Activities include: planning and carrying out instruction, instructional activities, and preparing learning materials for special studies; preparing lesson plans, instructional activities and maintaining records and reports on student learning; participating in professional development activities to improve teaching skills and expertise, student advising, student clinical placement, and other assigned duties; responsible for curriculum committee duties at the state level and for program organization, administration, assessment, continuous quality improvement, direction of program faculty and staff, and general effectiveness of the program; Participate in budget preparation process and other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
• Must hold American Society for Clinical Pathology Board of Certification ASCP-BOC generalist certification as a Medical Laboratory Scientist / Medical Technologist
• Must have a master’s degree or higher OR complete a master’s degree within one year of hire
• Must have three years of teaching experience
• Must have knowledge of educational methods and administration
