Job Summary
The Nursing Division of Jefferson Community and Technical College has an
opening for a Nursing Instructor for the Downtown and the extended campuses.
Job Duties:
This position could have teaching responsibilities at all JCTC campuses which offer nursing courses and will have an evening commitment as part of the teaching load. This position will be responsible for full-time didactic and clinical instruction in the Nursing Program. Other duties include but are not limited to:
• Academic advising
• Course and curriculum development
• Internal and external community service
• Educational leadership and professional development.
SALARY: The annual salary is $55,000 - $59,000. Salary is dependent upon experience and education. This is a 10 month contract with an annual salary that is payable over 12 months.
Minimum Qualifications:
Master’s degree in Nursing with at least five years’ experience in Nursing. Must have an unrestricted unencumbered KY Nursing License or compact state License to practice nursing in the state of Kentucky.
Preferred Qualifications:
At least five years’ experience in Nursing (two of which should be in Nursing education at or above the ADN level) is preferred. A BSN will be considered with the requirement of obtaining an MSN in nursing education within 5 years. Medical-surgical nursing experience is required within the last 5 years. Strong written and oral communication skills are required. Must be proficient with technology, including Microsoft Office Suite. Preference will be given to
qualified applicants with previous teaching experience, knowledge of nursing at the associate degree level, and leadership experience.
Experience in, and understanding of the importance of, working with students from diverse backgrounds required.
