Job Summary
This is a temporary, part-time Tutor Pool to provide individual tutoring to assigned students & individual tutoring for students with disabilities.
Job Duties:
Our tutors work with students to improve academic achievement by meeting with them regularly to clarify subject matter. Other assistance might include reviewing class material, discussing the text, predicting test questions, formulating ideas for papers, working on solutions to problems, improving study skills, or improving organizational skills. Tutoring is a supplement to classroom teaching. Each student receives a total of two hours supplemental tutoring per week. Tutors are authorized up to a maximum of 20 hrs. /week.
Duties:
Complete GEN 122 New tutoring Orientation Training with Tutor Coordinator. Check e-mail daily for new assignments and announcements. Contact assigned students within three working days of receiving the assignment. Be punctual for all scheduled tutoring sessions. Promptly notify the student if you cannot meet with him or her. If you cannot reach the student, contact the Training Coordinator.
Minimum Qualifications:
2.5 cumulative GPA. Have completed the class (or equivalent) and received a grade of A or B.
