Job Summary

The Workforce Liaison is a key role in connecting the college’s Workforce Solutions department with employers, community partners, and prospective students. The liaison will manage employer engagement efforts, support marketing and enrollment initiatives, and ensure smooth coordination of workforce training programs. This position serves as the main point of contact for employer partnerships, community outreach, and ensuring the effective integration of industry needs with the college’s training and certification offerings. The Workforce Liaison will play a central role in ensuring the successful recruitment, enrollment, and retention of students for the college’s Workforce Solutions programs, with a focus on building and sustaining strong employer partnerships.

Job Duties:

Employer Engagement & Salesforce Management:

  • Post all employer engagement activities, meetings, and interactions into Salesforce to ensure accurate tracking and reporting of employer relationships and outreach efforts.
  • Provide administrative support to the employer engagement team by ensuring their activities, such as employer meetings and networking events, are also posted and updated in Salesforce.
  • Identify new employer partners, assess training needs or gaps, and educate employers about available training programs, including access to TRAINS (Training, Recruitment, and Incentive Solutions) funding for workforce development

 

Education First Marketing & Enrollments:

  • Oversee the marketing and enrollment efforts for Education First, including outreach and promotional activities to attract prospective students for workforce training programs.
  • Collaborate with marketing teams to develop and implement strategies that increase visibility and student enrollment in programs such as CDL (Commercial Driver’s License) and Lineman certification.
  • Support employer partners by providing them with relevant information and materials to help promote workforce training programs to their employees or job candidates.

Community Outreach & Event Representation:

  • Represent Workforce Solutions at local community events, including One Stop Partner meetings, Job Corps meetings, job fairs, and other employer- or job-seeker-related events.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with community organizations, workforce agencies, and local employers to expand the reach of Workforce Solutions programs.
  • Assist in the development and promotion of industry-specific focus groups to assess training needs, gather feedback, and identify trends within key industries.

Proposal Preparation & Program Support:

  • Prepare training proposals for employers to meet their specific workforce development needs, ensuring that training solutions align with both industry requirements and available funding.
  • Work closely with employers to define the scope, objectives, and desired outcomes of customized training programs.
  • Provide instructional materials and program content support to Workforce instructors to ensure they have the resources needed for successful delivery of programs.


Collaborative Outreach with College Recruiter:

  • Work closely with the college’s recruiter to meet with high school students, introduce them to Workforce Solutions programs, and promote career pathways, including CDL and Lineman training.
  • Participate in high school outreach efforts, such as career fairs, information sessions, and recruiting events, to help high school students explore workforce training opportunities and prepare for future careers.

Data Management & Reporting:

  • Maintain accurate records in Salesforce, ensuring all activities, employer interactions, and program enrollments are tracked and reported in a timely manner.
  • Assist in the collection and reporting of data related to program effectiveness, employer feedback, and student outcomes to support continuous improvement and decision-making.

General Support & Coordination:

  • Provide general administrative support to the Workforce Solutions team as needed, including preparing training schedules, compiling materials, and coordinating logistics for programs and events.
  • Assist with the coordination of training and certification courses to ensure that all materials, instructors, and logistical elements are in place.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education & Experience:

  • Associate’s degree in business, Education, Workforce Development, or a related field; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • At least 2-3 years of experience in workforce development, business development, or community outreach, preferably in a higher education or training environment.
  • Experience with Salesforce or similar CRM software for managing relationships and tracking data. 
  • Knowledge of workforce development programs, funding opportunities, and employer engagement strategies.

Skills & Abilities:

  • Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with employers, students, and community partners.
  •  Familiarity with workforce training programs and certifications, including CDL, Lineman, and other industry-specific certifications.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), and experience with marketing and enrollment tools.
  • Comfortable with public speaking and representing the college at community events, job fairs, and employer meetings.
     

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in the development and delivery of workforce training proposals and programs.
  • Prior experience working with employer partners to design customized training solutions.
  • Knowledge of TRAINS funding or similar workforce development funding programs.
