Job Summary

We are seeking a talented and engaging Advanced Excel & Power BI Instructor to deliver high-quality training to adult learners. This part-time, as-needed role combines deep technical expertise with strong teaching skills to help professionals turn data into actionable insights.

Job Duties:

• Design and deliver engaging lessons on advanced Excel topics, including:
  
• PivotTables, PivotCharts, advanced formulas (INDEX/MATCH, nested IFs, arrays)
  
• Data validation, conditional formatting, and automation with macros/VBA
  
• Power Query and Power Pivot for data transformation and modeling
  
• Creating dashboards and visual analytics in Excel
  
• Deliver comprehensive training on Power BI, including:
  
• Connecting to and transforming data sources
  
• Building data models and applying DAX for advanced calculations
  
• Designing interactive reports and dashboards
  
• Publishing, sharing, and managing content in the Power BI Service
  
• Data visualization best practices and storytelling techniques
  
• Adapt lessons for learners across industries and skill levels
  
• Provide real-world case studies, datasets, and hands-on exercises
  
• Offer individual coaching and feedback to support skill mastery
  
• Evaluate training effectiveness and update materials accordingly

Minimum Qualifications:

• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Power BI
  
• Professional experience applying both tools for data analysis and reporting
  
• Strong communication skills and the ability to explain complex concepts simply
  
• Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS) Excel certification and/or Microsoft Certified: Data Analyst Associate (preferred but not required)
  
• Familiarity with related tools such as SQL, SharePoint, and Teams is a plus
  
• Must be able to work independently.
  
• Detail-oriented, self-motivated, ability to work independently and adapt seamlessly to fast-paced, dynamic environments.
  
• Skilled in engaging and supporting students from different cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds.
  
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  
• Proven ability to manage multiple priorities effectively and meet tight deadlines.
  
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Forms, Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, Word).
   

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous experience in a community college setting
  
• Prior experience teaching, training, or mentoring adult learners (in-person or virtual)
