Job Summary

Jefferson Community and Technical College seeking a highly skilled and experienced Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Instructor to join our team. The CDL Instructor will be responsible for training students to operate commercial motor vehicles safely and ensuring they meet all requirements to obtain their CDL. The ideal candidate has extensive experience in commercial driving, a passion for teaching, and a commitment to student success.

Job Duties:

• Thorough understanding of DOT regulations and state requirements for CDL.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work with a wide variety of student populations and accommodate different learning styles.
• Ability to think quickly and respond appropriately in high-pressure situations.
• Excellent organizational skills, time management, flexibility, and attention to detail.
• Ability to build and maintain internal and external work-related relationships.

Minimum Qualifications:

High school diploma or GED equivalent
• Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License for at least 2 years.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience as a commercial driver.
 

Preferred Qualifications:

•Previous teaching or training experience in a CDL program or similar setting.
•Certification as a CDL Instructor or Trainer

Physical Requirements:
Regularly involves lifting, bending, or other physical exertions – often exposed to disagreeable environmental elements (heat, cold, dirt, chemicals, etc.)
