Job Summary

  • This position performs basic janitorial duties, minor building maintenance tasks, and minor grounds-keeping, maintaining a safe, clean and pleasant atmosphere for students, faculty and staff. This position will work day shift, however, hours may vary. This position is seeking to fill two open positions, one located on the Montgomery Campus, and one located on the Rowan Campus.

Job Duties:

• Performs daily cleaning of classrooms and offices such as dusting, taking out trash, cleaning windows, vacuuming, wiping down base boards and cleaning cobwebs and dust from ceilings.

• Performs daily cleaning, disinfecting, and maintenance of restrooms.

• Performs minor repairs and assists maintenance technician in repairs.

• Is responsible for maintaining, ordering, and restocking cleaning supplies, paper products, and trash bags.

• Replaces light bulbs, ballasts, ceiling tiles, etc.

• Assists in grounds upkeep and salting of steps and sidewalks during the winter season.

• Moves furniture and equipment for event setups.

• Operates forklift in the event the maintenance technician is unavailable. ( Forklift training will be provided)

• Performs floor maintenance such as; shampooing carpet, sweeping, moping, stripping, waxing and buffing.

• Is responsible for setup during special events.

• Maintains organization of supply area(s) and equipment, documents inventory, and requests additional supplies as needed.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School/GED, and six months related experience, or equivalent. Occasionally lift up to 100 pounds.
