Job Summary
In collaboration with the BCTC Associate Dean of Student Records/Registrar and the Assistant Registrar, the Associate Registrar will assist with the maintenance, upkeep, security, and updating of BCTC Student Records and the planning and management of all records and registration-related functions.
Job Duties:
Assumes responsibility for daily operations in the absence of the Associate Dean of Student Records/Registrar.
Provides leadership in all areas of the Registrar’s Office including the maintenance of student records, student registration, transcript processing, graduation and the evaluation of transfer credit.
Oversees all graduation processing and posting of degrees.
Plans, organizes, assigns, supervises and reviews the work of assigned staff involved in the graduation processes.
Participates in commencement activities as assigned.
Manages all special projects/programs that will increase the number of credentials awarded by the college.
Manages the course exception and course waiver process.
Reviews and works to correct issues identified with the academic requirement report.
Follows customer service guidelines established for the office and abides by the guidelines of FERPA.
Serves as contact for FERPA questions regarding policy and provides training to faculty and staff as needed.
Serves as a consultant to faculty, staff and students on KCTCS/BCTC academic rules and policies.
Serves on college and system wide committees as assigned.
Participates in professional organizations and professional development as resources allow. Completes all required KCTCS training modules and attends KCTCS and BCTC trainings as needed.
Serves on all college committees as needed and performs other duties as assigned by the Associate Dean of Student Records/Registrar.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree and two-years related experience
