Title: Part-Time Lineworker Training Assistant (Pole Yard)

Salary Range: $20 per hour

Start Date: Spring 2026 (January through May)

Standard Hours: 5p - 9p, two or three nights per week

Work Location: On-Site

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Job Summary

Assist in training and developing future line workers in technical skills and safety protocols. This role supports hands-on instruction alongside a full-time instructor. The position is for a second person to assist at the telephone poles as a set of eyes on the ground. A full class can have 22 or more students, so additional supervision is essential for safety. Ideal candidates should be passionate about safety and committed to preparing the next generation of line workers.

Class time Monday - Thursday

  • 5:30 PM – 8:00 PM for the first 8 weeks
  • 5:30 PM – 9:30 PM for the second 8 weeks

We can be quite flexible—if you can only work two nights per week, we can adapt.

Job Duties:

  • Assist the instructor during hands-on training
  • Keep an eye on students in a high-risk environment
  • Mentor future lineworkers on safety and technique
  • Help deliver instructional materials
  • Be part of a team shaping the workforce of tomorrow

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of relevant experience
  • Safety-first mindset
  • Physical stamina and comfort working around heights
  • Strong communication and mentoring skills
  • Industry certifications (preferred)
