Job Summary

The Learning Commons is seeking a Part-Time Tutor for Anatomy and Physiology (A&P) to support student learning by helping students strengthen their understanding of the course and build effective study skills. Tutors work collaboratively with students to reinforce learning, encourage academic independence, and guide students without completing work on their behalf.

Job Duties:

Tutors provide individualized academic support to students in Anatomy and Physiology by reinforcing course concepts and promoting effective learning strategies. Tutors meet one-on-one with students for sessions of up to 45 minutes and are expected to foster a supportive, student-centered learning environment. Responsibilities include completing required training, conducting outreach to students who may benefit from tutoring services, documenting appointments in Starfish, and assisting with Learning Commons help desk operations. Tutoring is provided in the Learning Commons and through online sessions.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Earned a grade of A in BIO 137 and BIO 139
• Successfully completed at least 12 credit hours at SKYCTC
• Maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher
• Provide one professional reference from an A & P faculty member

• Demonstrate strong organizational and time management skills
• Maintain subject-matter knowledge through regular review of course materials
• Demonstrate proficiency with systems such as PeopleSoft, Blackboard, Microsoft Word, Outlook, Microsoft Teams, and Starfish
• Maintain professional conduct with students, faculty, staff, and colleagues
