Job Summary

The Career Laddering Outreach/Intake Specialist implements outreach, recruitment, and participant screening for the BCTC Global Learning Career Laddering Service, an ORR-funded program administered through the Kentucky Office of Refugees. This position ensures that eligible participants—skilled immigrants, refugees, and internationally trained professionals—are identified, assessed, and enrolled in accordance with Office of Refugee Resettlement (ORR) guidelines. The Specialist conducts initial assessments to identify skills, credentials, and career interests, and gathers required documentation to confirm eligibility. The Specialist also connects participants to immediate support resources as needed and transitions eligible participants to the Career Laddering Navigator for individualized career planning, coaching, and case management.

Job Duties:

  • Conducts targeted outreach and recruitment activities to engage eligible skilled immigrants, refugees, and internationally trained professionals in alignment with ORR guidelines.

  • Builds and maintains relationships with community partners, resettlement agencies, and professional networks to identify potential participants.

  • Screens participants for program eligibility, including documentation verification in compliance with ORR and Kentucky Office of Refugees standards.

  • Conducts initial assessments to gather information on participants’ education, professional experience, credentials, and career goals.

  • Provides information on available program services, expectations, and career laddering opportunities.

  • Connects participants to immediate support services and community resources as appropriate.

  • Completes all required intake forms and enters participant data accurately into program records.

  • Transitions eligible participants to the Career Laddering Navigator for individualized career planning, coaching, and case management.

  • Supports program tracking and reporting by maintaining accurate outreach, screening, and intake documentation.

  • Participates in program promotion activities, community events, and information sessions to increase awareness of the Career Laddering Service.

  • Attend Global Learning meetings and events and provide updates on the program’s status, challenges, and accomplishments.

  • Work in collaboration with the RVTP Program Manager and Navigator to support program outcomes and goals.

  • Stay updated on grant policies and BCTC regulations to ensure program compliance.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in related fields (Education, Higher Education, Social Work, or related field). 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in related fields (Education, Higher Education, Social Work, or related field).
  • 1+ years of experience

Additional Skills Requested:

  • Strong Language Skills in an additional language other than English and/or experience working with interpreting services
  • Must have a valid driver's license.
  • Language Skills in French, Arabic, Swahili or other world languages with strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Willingness to work some non-traditional schedules with some events and outreach programs during the evening and on weekends. Events and programs will be planned with advanced notice.

  • Personal and professional integrity with an emphasis on confidentiality and attention to detail.
  • Must be self-motivated and able to manage multiple projects at once.
