Job Summary

MCTC is seeking a Student Support Specialist II to provide comprehensive support to students through proactive, high-volume communication via in-person meetings, virtual meetings, phone, and email. Key responsibilities include assisting new and continuing students with scheduling, responding to student questions and requests, identifying students who may be at risk for academic failure, and implementing strategies that promote student success.

This position will primarily serve students on the Rowan campus of MCTC. This is an in-person role that requires a regular on-campus presence and may not eligible for remote work. The position is based primarily in a professional office environment.

Job Duties:

1. Maintain direct contact and provide guidance and support to Rowan Campus students to improve student success. This includes: monitoring attendance and academic progress; discussing and supporting the student as they resolve issues that occur in the classroom environment; informing and connecting students to available academic and well-being resources; advising; and helping students develop individual student success and SAP plans.

2. Assist in the development of the success center operations, including the process for early intervention and reporting

3. Assist the success coaching team in coordinating student success services, including: Accessibility Services, Tutoring, etc..

4. Maintain an in-depth understanding of all Business and Related Technologies Division programs, including pre-requisite and program courses, admissions processes, program requirements, and workforce needs. Maintain relationships with program faculty to support and connect students

5. Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree in related field (education, counseling) and 2 years of experience.  

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree in related field (education, counseling, etc.) and 2-4 years of experience.

The Administrative Assistant II provides administrative and operational support to the Allied Health and Nursing divisions across the Rowan and Montgomery campuses. This position requires an in-person schedule split between both campuses each week, typically three days at Rowan and two days at Montgomery, with travel between campuses required. Responsibilities include supporting daily division operations, maintaining Kentucky Board of Nursing (KBN) compliance as the designated clerical staff for the Nursing Division, assisting with ACEN accreditation, and meeting institutional requirements. Duties include document preparation, student records management, class scheduling, admissions processing, budget coordination, purchasing, travel support, internal and external communications, and assisting faculty and leadership with data collection, reporting, and accreditation and program review activities. As an instructor for the Practical Nursing Program and faculty member of MCTC, the primary responsibility is the implementation of set curriculum regarding instruction and instructional activities as well as preparation of learning materials for special study.
