Job Summary
The Student Support Coordinator is responsible for facilitating student basic needs support, student activties, and career service programming. The position is a balance between the basic needs, one-on-one supportive function and the broader, more student-facing programming piece. The Dean of Students and the Student Services Administrative Assistant support the Student Support Coordinator in their work.
Job Duties:
- Coordinate student basic needs support including but not limited to: Campus Cupboard (food pantry), transportation support, and Get Help (the student emergency fund)
- Make referrals to Dean of Students, CARES team, and other supportive employees
- Facilitate connection between student and community resources when apporpriate
- Provide opportunities for student engagement through planning events including recuriting volunteers and organizing logistics.
- Engage the Student Life Committee to plan programming that represents student interests and coordinate committee members' involvement in Student Life programming.
- Oversee student clubs, organizations, and intramurals.
-Coordinate with Student Services unit on other initiatives related to student retention.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree
- 1-2 years of direct student support experience
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational and planning abilities
- Ability to problem solve and work independently
- Flexibility in scheduling to accommodate for occasion evening events
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in education, counseling, or other helping field.
- 2-3 years direct student support experience
- Demonstrated history organizing and planning student programming
